I live in a beachy tourist town, so impromptu afternoons in the sun are not uncommon. The problem with most commercial sunscreens is that they are loaded with ingredients, many of which are toxic. Even natural brands of sunscreen have a lot of added ingredients. I prefer something simpler, so this year I’m making my own.
This year, I’m making a 2-ingredient sunscreen that I feel amazing putting on my kids. The active ingredient is organic cold-pressed red raspberry seed oil.
How Effective is Raspberry Seed Oil for Sun Protection?
In her Facebook group, Wholesome Living, healthy lifestyle expert, Sylvia, recently conducted a natural sun protection experiment. In it, she tested 5 nontoxic sunscreens and a control – and the results speak for themselves!
After reviewing the post, I decided to buy raspberry seed oil for my family’s sun protection this year.
The Wholesome Living post goes on to say that raspberry seed oil “is a very rich source of essential fatty acids and Vitamin E. The polyphenols help improve skin tone and elasticity and aid skin regeneration. It also helps maintain moisture while offering anti-inflammatory properties.”
