Welcome to My (Virtual) Home!

Hi, I’m Courtney – a environmental health educator, wellness real estate investor/developer, and concerned mom.  In addition to consulting others on household health, I’m currently designing health-focused developments in the hot and humid regions of NW Florida, Central Texas, and Central Alabama.   My goal is to help you improve your family’s health and wellbeing by addressing the health hazards that exist in your home environment.

Holistic Health Must Consider One’s Environment

There is no shortage of incredible natural health websites, functional medicine blogs, drool-worthy and nutrient-packed recipe sites, and Instagram accounts of moms with rockhard bodies.

And it’s true: Proper nutrition, regular movement, and lots of sunshine and laughter will take you very far on your journey toward epic health. But I believe that a truly holistic approach to health and wellbeing must also address one’s home environment.

Humans spend, on average, 22 years of their lives at home! Is it any wonder then that the walls that surround us have massive implications on our health?  Even a brand new Joanna-Gaines-approved perfectly picturesque house is typically full of toxic chemicals that can make occupants extremely ill!

As a doctor specialising in nutritional and environmental medicine, there is no point treating a patient with supplements or medication if they are breathing in a toxic soup of chemicals, toxins and bathing in electromagnetic fields.

My Story

It took me far too long to connect the dots between my health and my house.  At my worst, I was a new mom eating a clean Paleo diet, but suffering immeasurably from neurological issues, sleep disturbances, skin conditions, and debilitating gastrointestinal symptoms.  I never once considered that my symptoms might be related to my new house.

Luckily, my husband’s job in the military allows us to relocate regularly, and not long after moving several states away, my symptoms subsided.  Like…totally and completely gone.

Now I’m on a mission to help other families recognize the relationship between their homes (+ the stuff in them) and their health and wellbeing.
